All grown-ups were children once. Although few of them remember it.

There was a time, long ago, when Wilbur Whittaker’s mind would wander and wonder, but these days he cares more about sensible things like neck-ties and… fences.

As a boy, Wilbur kept his wonderings in a special shoebox, but as he grew up and followed the path of 'What Was Best' and 'Doesn’t That Sound More Sensible', he forgot all about his wonderings and his plans for one day.

That is until Wilbur is visited by a collections officer from 'The Bureau' – a recycling agency for long forgotten wonderings. Wilbur surrenders his special shoebox only to discover that without it, he begins to disappear. With time running out before he is un-wondered forever, Wilbur is drawn into an epic adventure that takes him to the furthest reaches of the galaxy.

From the writer/director duo behind 2021’s sell-out smash hit HOUSE and Helpmann Award-winning Bambert’s Book of Lost Stories, comes a brand new Australian play about creativity, growing up and living outside of the box. An intergalactic adventure for intergenerational audiences, this 80s inspired electric dream is a heartfelt and irreverent escapade for the whole family.

Maggie Tulliver grows up in a provincial English town where her quick imagination and intelligence are stifled. Her story spans fifteen years and begins when Maggie is nine years old. Both Maggie Tulliver and George Eliot were women ahead of their time. At the time of publishing under her pseudonym, George Eliot, no one suspected her gender because the writing was considered too good to be written by a woman.

OpticNerve weaves this tale for both women highlighting the collision of opposites and the tension between inner and outer forces. The intense physicality of the work becomes a language of innermost thoughts and emotions where 8 actors playing 17 characters promise a world of haunting resonance and mesmerizing moments.

A black comedy about white terror, Delectable Shelter  is a no-holds-barred portrait of the privileged, facing the end of the world as they know it.

In a bunker deep within the earth, five survivors plan a utopian society. Their dreams are lavish, their visions grand, and their aspirations (somewhat) noble. But saving the world is the easy part, the hard part will learning to share it with those they thought were beneath them. Meanwhile, a reverent choir sings classical renditions of love songs from the 1980s…

The Seizure is a version of a version of the Ancient Greek myth of Philoctetes, the unlucky archer who, having received an envenomed wound that made him unable to fight in the oncoming Trojan War, was abandoned by Odysseus and the Greek army on the uninhabited island of Lemnos.

International Rescue at its most entertaining...The Abduction from the Seraglio!

Melbourne Opera kicks off its exciting 2016 season with a new production of Mozart's entertaining singspiel "The Abduction from the Seraglio".

Following her great success with Melbourne Opera's Cosi fan Tutte, director Suzanne Chaundy has set the opera in the 1970's, a world of international glamour, intrigue and espionage.  The beautiful German model Konstanze (Lee Abrahmsen), along with her assistant Blonde (Hannah Dahlenburg) and boyfriend Pedrillo (Paul Biencourt), has been abducted during a Mediterranean cruise and then "rescued" by the international man of mystery Pasha Selim (Nick Pelomis) and kept captive at his luxury hideout.  Konstanze’s' dashing lover Belmonte.....James Belmonte (Christopher Lincoln Bogg).....sets out to rescue her. In doing so, and after many entertaining adventures, he eventually thwarts Pasha Selim's boorish chief of security Osmin (Eddie Muliaumaseali’i).  After a surprise revelation, all ends well.
